The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) expired March 31, 2021. The latest coronavirus relief bill, the American Relief Plan Act (ARPA), expired September 30, 2021. Although employers no longer have the option to take a tax credit if offering paid leave time for COVID-19-related absences, there are options for how to accommodate missed time or schedule changes.

Determine which additional paid benefits and resources are available to employees who are impacted by COVID-19. This may include PTO, vacation, paid sick leave, short-term disability insurance, or other state-mandated benefits.
